Attendees will obtain over 20 hours of online training over 3 days regarding use of the PEERS® Curriculum and the research behind the program. The training is NOT recorded and attendance for the full 3 days is required.

Learning Outcomes for the PEERS® Certified Training Seminar
- Learn about the friendship and social difficulties common to autistic preschoolers and preschoolers with other social challenges
- Learn how to conduct group social skills training for preschoolers and their parents/caregivers
- Become familiar with the PEERS® for Preschoolers Manual and the research upon which it is founded
In order to become a Certified PEERS® Provider, attendees need to meet the following criteria:
- In order to receive certification to be considered a PEERS® Certified Provider, attendees must be a professional or graduate student in the mental health professional, medical, or education field with the following minimum level of training:
- A degree in the field of psychology or a related mental health field, including, but not limited to: B.C.B.A., M.S.W., L.C.S.W., S.L.P., M.A., M.S., M.F.T., M.D., R.N., L.V.N., Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D., M.P.H.
- Graduate students in a mental health, medical, or education related field pursuing a master’s degree or higher.
- Teachers with teaching credentials or students pursuing a teaching credential.
About the Presenter:
Dr Elizabeth Laugeson is a licensed clinical psychologist and an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior.
Dr. Laugeson is the Founder and Director of the UCLA PEERS® Clinic, which is an an outpatient hospital-based program providing parent-assisted social skills training for preschoolers, adolescents and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other social impairments.
